I have been working on the last book in my Amish Blizzards series. It is selling very well on Amazon. Tomorrow, I am meeting my daughter, Jessica Kristina, for breakfast, and we are going over Love Inspired by Courage. I am so glad that she has chosen a career in writing.

Busy Day

June 5th, 2013 at 02:10 pm

I just woke up. Today is a busy day. I have to go give Momma her bath and then write. need to work on the budget too. Baking homemade Sourdough bread tonight. I love to slice it thin, toast it, and eat it with cream cheese.

Sleepless Night

June 3rd, 2013 at 07:38 am

I am having a sleepless night. I took a long nap earlier, and I am glad that I did. I baked cookies about an hour ago. It is interesting how many baked goods you can bake with staples in your cupboard. And my homemade food is so much healthier than store-bought.

I am making homemade dishwasher detergent later today as well as baking bread: Sourdough and Cinnamon-raisin. I love my homemade bread. Breakfast will be homemade buttermilk biscuits and sausage. I finally got rid of the headache after taking a whole narcotic. I thought I'd never get rid of it.

My book sales are doing really good, but I still miss my merchandising jobs.

Progress

June 2nd, 2013 at 04:12 pm

Forgot to post my progress. I paid off a hospital bill and a state tax bill a couple months ago. After this month, I will roll the money I was paying for those two bills onto my IRS payment. I am making estimated payments in the fall, which is my busy season as an author, so that should help.

I bumped up my installment payments to the IRS to $350 a month and bumped up student loan to $242.00 a month. Not eating out that much and cooking from scratch has helped my finances a lot.

Sales

June 2nd, 2013 at 04:05 pm

I've been saving a lot of money on sales. Dollar General had Ruffles chips for 3 for $5.00. I make homemade dip, which the kids love. Got Miracle Whip for $1.69 and Mayo for $1.79 at Save-A-Lot.

I can only spend $55 a month on Momma because of SSI rules. Therefore, I have started couponing again. But I do make most stuff from scratch. Heinz Ketchup was $1.00 for the large bottle with my coupon last week. I bought six bottles. I bought six each of Miracle Whip and Mayo. That's enough to do us until the holiday baking season. Tuna was .69 at Save-A-Lot. I bought ten. We eat a lot of tuna.

This week's coupons weren't that good, so I didn't buy a paper.

Missed Everyone

June 2nd, 2013 at 04:06 am

I missed everyone. I decided, for the last time, to not join the church. The 2.5 hour drive was a killer, and with my back injuries from the car wreck, I just can't see myself keeping up. I decided that as long as I have Jesus in my heart, I will be fine.

I have to get caught up on everyone's posts.
