Book Signings- do you read?

May 16th, 2008 at 04:53 pm

I am gearing up for my book signing at the Kentucky Welcome Center tomorrow in Simpsonville, Ky- I-64 Eastbound. Anyone from Kentucky, feel free to come down and get your cookbook signed. I was jsut wondering about reading- actually how many people actually read books- and if you go to book signings or to the library- I do both. I LOVE the library, and have done lots of signings there.

I also love libraries! And like boo, I sometimes think I support them with my late fee fines!

I've been to one book signing before. Delilah who is the host to lite love songs, etc on 103.7 (in the DFW metroplex area) wrote a book about her life. About four years ago she was the guest speaker at a Women's Day event held by 103.7. She gave away free copies of her book, and signed them. Smile
Also, when I was in college (at Southern in Collegedale, TN) Kay Rizzo spoke at one of our weekly assemblies. She is one of my favorite authors - although I didn't have any of her books with me at college. Frown So I had her sign a piece of paper, and the next time I went home, put it in one of her books. (If I remember correctly, she had just come out with one of her more serious books "She Said No." and was speaking about date rape.)

I love the library and unfortunately for me and my checkbook, I love bookstores even more! :-)

I have never been to a book-signing. I hate crowds and I may hate standing in line even more.
