June 28th, 2008 at 04:17 pm

We are fixing to get strong storms today- lightning scares me- but I love to sleep with the rain falling- it is sooo relaxing. Anyone else getting storms?

Rumspringa

June 24th, 2008 at 10:15 am

OK- I've gotten lots of emails/calls about Primtime doing a series about Amish Rumpsringa. My Old Order community didn't have this, as some don't, but I do know of some who have left the communities. Its up to the individual.

Budget Tracker

June 21st, 2008 at 06:25 pm

OK- I'm addicted to www.budgettracker.com for it even has a spot for your grocery list and recipes- it has different columns for each store, and totals everything!!!

Have I Changed???

June 20th, 2008 at 03:23 pm

OK- I overheard a group of locals girls as they were passing me, say that I had changed since I became famous. It hurt my feelings because I'm still the same Sicily- I still save money in my piggybank, and I still enjoy hanging out with the same friends- so I don't understand how I have changed. I've been on this blog since 2006- and I'm still blogging- the only think that has changed is my hectic tour schedule and broken arm. Maybe some people think its all easy- touring and balancing my merchandising business too- I've been up since 4 am and went to bed at 2am, and I'm still working as we speak- not in $$$ sense, but it updating my new Myspace fan sites. Tours are grueling- all the fast food between the appearances and being shuttled from tv or newspaper appointment to another, and then, I always stay as late as I can to chat with my fans. I really put in 100%.

New Myspace Site

June 18th, 2008 at 06:07 pm

My assistant just put up my new Myspace site at www.myspace.com/celebritysicily - I have to say that I am sooo busy that I will not be maintaining it, nor will I be answering questions. I just don't have the time anymore.

Travel Show in Process

June 18th, 2008 at 06:06 pm

I have been off and on the cell with my producer- the travel show pilots are still a, "Go", in the spring of '09. I'm real excited about it- I want to travel to meet my buddies on here- my splint is off now....well I took it off- DisneySteve, it has been 4 months, so should I be OK? I haven't been an RN in years, but I think i'm OK- I'm making an appointment with my doctor next week. Its hard when you tour all the time. I'm always working.

In Louisville Today

What ten things would you want to do if you had only months to live?

June 14th, 2008 at 03:09 pm

I was watching a show about a young lady who was terminal. She was living life in the moment, and was very happy. It made me and my girlfriends think about what we would want to say that we had accomplished if we had only months to live. We each made a list. What would your list be? Mine is below:

1. To make a difference in the life of orphaned children.
2. To help enrich the life of stressed -out folks, teaching them about simplicity that I learned from the Amish and Mennonites.
3. To do a Food Network cooking show in the US.
4. To be known as a warm, loving friend and family member.
5. To hold my grandkids( well, actually great-nieces and great-nephews, but I claim them as mine, so I save, "grandkids.'}
6. To marry a wonderful Christian SDA man, who puts the Lord first.
7. To have enjoyed life, living it to the fulliest- no regrets.
8. To have traveled to every country.
9. To help find a cure for Diabetes, AIDS, COPD, and Cancer.
10. To inspire women, as a celebrity role-model, to leave domestic violence and be their own independent person, and bringing Jesus into their hearts as well.

Back Home

June 14th, 2008 at 12:43 pm

Well, I'm back home for a little while- I was sooo tired that I have been having migraines. I visited where my mother was born- Harlan, Kentucky- a nice gentleman from the Harlan newspaper interviewed me about my upcoming novel. I have already reserved the Harlan Tourism Convention Center for December 1, 2008, for my book release. We always have the Farmer reunion there. Pictured above is the beautiful view from the top of Pine Mountain, on my way from Whitesburg to Harlan. It was so good to be back in my kitchen last night, cooking food- I cooked homemade chicken parmesan, home fries, and veggies- We had grape soda too- it was sooo good.

Super 8

June 9th, 2008 at 12:16 pm

I am staying at a Super 8 that is listed in the Super 8 Directory as, "The Pride of Super 8." I can see why- it is sooo clean and everyone is so sweet- giving me extra shampoo, milk in the evenings for my homemade granola, and peppermints- who says traveling to small towns is bad? Its not at all in Hazard!! Taco Bell is nearby and their new frozen strawberry-mango drink is to die for!!! Well, thats all for now, as I'm headed off my lunch break and back to traveling to nearby Vicco!!

Cancelled Appearance

June 6th, 2008 at 05:05 pm

I am sooo tired that I had to cancel my Vevay, Indiana signing and appearance for the Luau- I had a migraine- was so tired today in Louisville- barely made it home, then that crazy guy flames me again- well its life in the spotlight. I've gotten hundreds of very nice cards, gifts, and some cute pictures from many readers- you all are the best!!! I promised Vevay I would come back again- they sell my cookbooks and newsletters. I leave for Eastern Kentucky again tomorrow- YES I am staying in Super 8- and I like that particular hotel- they are so sweet...its so funny about the person flaming me- I am Hilton Honors Gold- if they don't believe it they can call Hilton Honors- I will be Diamond by the end of July- but I am sooo poor- yeah right! I am not a snotty celebrity, and that is why I am on here...to stay grounded to how I was raised and who I am...I've never lost who I am, and although I get a ton of free stuff, I am still ME!!! I guess this crazy guy will never leave me alone, so lets just ignore them...and for the media, because I know that you pull up RSS feed from here, as several reporters from newschannels and newspapers have shown it to me, please ignore them too.

Back Home for Tonight

June 5th, 2008 at 06:06 pm

I am home tonight- rushing around- you know how it is when you have been out of town. I am signing books and selling copies of my newsletter at The Amish Goods Store in Vevay, Indiana tomorrow, from 6-9 pm. Anyone in the area, come on out and meet me.

Home Sick

June 3rd, 2008 at 04:08 pm

Everyone on the tour is nice- the folks in Hazard are so sweet- really great cooks too- I had salmon patties, mashed potatoes, green beans, and strawberry cream pie for supper- I am getting home sick though- I miss the teenagers- I am sooo close to my nephew's fiance now- she is like my baby girl too. Thanks for all of the nice cards- and gift cards for my birthday- I did not know that Shelly had done that-when I posted- I didn't even notice her post since I was so tired. You all are the BEST buddies in the world- I feel out of place sometimes, being a celebrity on here, but you all make me feel normal- which is why I am still on here- to stay grounded. If you have a Myspace page, join me at www.myspace.com/sicilyyoder.

Hello from Hazard

June 1st, 2008 at 08:28 pm

Hello to all of my saving Advice buddies- I am blogging from Hazard, Kentucky and having fun here ( minus the storms.) MY driver, Rick, calmed me down a bit when the Weather channel siren went off on the TV, talking about 60 MPH winds, hair, and dangerous lightning. I can say that I am tired though. I've eaten enough fresh strawberries to make my body healthy- had strawberry pie, fresh strawberries in my homemade granola, and plain strawberries. I'll have pictures when I get back.
