I am so excited that it is Fall- I love Fall- the apple cider, the canning of fresh pears and apples, the hayrides, and the pumpkin patch!!! I love the colors, the Fall flowers, and just everything about Fall. It is cool here, and of course, having hot flashes, I love the weather, too. I am making an apple crisp tonight- don't know how much I can eat, as I had a tooth pulled yesterday- but will try.

I enjoyed my trip to Chicago- it was very busy- I flew into the Midway airport this time, instead of O' Hare. I actually liked it better. There was flooding several places, and freeways closed. I seen the Sears Tower again...from a distance, as we didn't have time to go downtown. The airport was ten miles from downtown. I went to Grand Rivers and Paducah, Kentucky, too. They had wonderful food at Patti's 1880's Settlement- huge servicngs of Southern-style food. Lighthouse Landing had a good variety of sail boats and the view from the New England-style cottages was spectacular.

My twin sis has power now- she is very thankful to be safe and cool in her townhouse. They are still cleaning up. It will be awhile for them to get back up on their feet. I sure miss my sis- I call her, "my other half." It has been a busy day today- working, then shopping. Land O Lakes margarine and preads are 10/$10.00 at Kroger.

My twin sister made it through Hurricane IKE!!! They are without power, but are thankful to be safe. They got 90-mile-an-hour winds. When I called at 8am, they were wtaching stuff fly by their windows- it was real scarey- and they ahve been through Hurricane before, but this was the worst. My sister lives in Beaumont. Hope everyone else in those areas affected is safe.
